Marshfield has 4 floodlit tarmac courts with one court marked with Mini Red courts for junior coaching and a hitting wall on court 3 for solo practice. There is an oak framed clubhouse with a small kitchen area, toilets and changing facilities, and a BBQ for external use in the Summer. We have an Ice Cream freezer that is seasonally loaded with mini tubs of Marshfield Ice cream for sale via an honesty box for £2.00 a tub.
The courts are accessed via the Car Park at the entrance to Withymead Playing Fields.
The Club was founded in 2011 after a committee of volunteers was able to secure LTA funding for court construction. The courts were built from scratch on scrubland towards the back of the Playing Field area. The Clubhouse was added in January 2013 following fundraising, a donation and an LTA loan. The Club has around 300 members - around half of whom are adults and half juniors.
The Club has been fully involved in local leagues with some success in the Chippenham and Wiltshire Tennis Leagues. We currently have 3 Male teams, 3 Female teams and 2 Mixed teams playing in the summer. There are two mixed teams in the Winter Leagues. New team members are always welcome . See the League match section for more information.
The Club is managed by a Committee of 14 volunteers. We welcome new committee members so if you would like to become involved in helping at the club contact us at Marshfieldtennisclub@hotmail.co.uk
